Liturgical textiles are intriguing to me because of the function that they perform. They are a visual element of sacred practice. As such they should an outward sign of an inner grace instilled in the place, the people, and their worship. The act of making anything can take on a prayerful quality. In the case of making liturgical decorations and garments, my own sense of prayerful and contemplative creativity is heightened.
